Effortless One-Handed Backhands - Introduction
In this module we take a deep look at the one handed backhand and how to move the racket and the body so the stroke feels smooth, stable, and easy on the body. A big focus is developing an effortless and efficient swing that allows you to move the racket freely, even at high speed, and adapt the stroke to many different situations using a variety of footwork patterns.
We break down the grips, highlighting the best option for control and stability. You will also learn how to use the non dominant arm effectively for balance, stability, timing, and rhythm. Footwork is a major part of this module. We cover both open and closed stance patterns, how and when to use each one, and how to adjust your movement based on the situation. We also look specifically at one handed backhand returns of serve and how to adapt your preparation, positioning and footwork to handle pace and limited time.
As with the rest of the course, I will continue to add more content over time. We will keep refining the one handed backhand section and expanding into other areas as the course grows. I would love to hear your feedback on this video, and if you have any questions or want me to cover anything else, just let me know.
